Proficiency Exams
Proficiency exams are administered during Week 3 of Session A and Week 3 of Session B on Monday (3:00 pm & 5:00 pm) and Saturday (12:00 pm). If you wish to proficiency out of a course, you must take the proficiency exam for that course the session before the course is scheduled to meet. All proficiency exams must be taken prior to the term you are expecting to graduate.
In order to be eligible for a proficiency exam, you
(a) have not previously attempted the course or exam;
(b) have never been enrolled in the course;
(c) are not currently enrolled in the course; and,
(d) are a current DeVry University student.
You may take no more than 2 proficiency exams per Session. Begin the process by obtaining the Proficiency Exam Request form at the Academics Reception Desk, Room 2111, TEC Building. The cost for the exam is $5 per credit hour.
