Student Employment Services
Part-Time Employment
Part-time positions are available to DeVry students both on- and off-campus. These positions are not necessarily career-related opportunities, but do allow the student to gain work experience while earning money to help meet their expenses.
Part-Time Employment Eligibility
OFF-CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT
Currently enrolled students are eligible for assistance locating Off-Campus Part-Time Employment. Visit the Career Services Office, Room 213, to review currently available positions!
ON-CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT
There are two types of On-Campus positions; eligibility is based on GPA
Faculty Assistants (FAs)
- Currently enrolled full-time student
- In your 3rd trimester
- With a cumulative GPA of 3.0
Staff Assistants (SAs)
- Currently enrolled full-time student
- With excellent attendance
- A cumulative GPA of 2.0
To apply for an FA or SA position, visit the Career Services office in the Student Academic Center, Room 213.
Part-Time Employment Application Process
The Part-time Job Advisor is available to meet with students by appointment only. Appointments can be made by signing the schedule at the Career Services reception desk.
For Night School Students, the Advisors are available on Tuesday evenings between 5:00 pm and 7:00 p.m. on a walk-in basis.
Career-Related Employment (CRE)
CRE is a program that integrates work experience with a student's educational field of study.
This program is available to students who are currently enrolled full-time, in at least their 2nd trimester of technical course work.
Evening students must be currently enrolled in at least their 3rd trimester of technical course work.
Additionally, all students must maintain a cumulative 2.25 GPA.
Career-Related Empployment Application Process
The enrollment process for CRE begins Week 2 of every trimester. To qualify, students are required to submit an application package by the deadline and to attend the required workshops.

Internships: Senior Projects
DeVry's internship program is designed to provide students with practical experience for academic credit. Students are available to work one day per week for 10 to 13 weeks on a specific education-related project. Assignments are unpaid.
Federal Work Study (FWS)
Federal Work Study is a form of Financial Aid. The purpose of FWS is to promote part-time employment to students attending campuses of higher learning to help cover educational expenses. Students are paid bi-weekly and work between 20 and 25 hours a week.
Acceptance into this program is based on financial need. Students must be enrolled for at least 6 hours to qualify and are awarded funds each fiscal year. (The fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30).
